TANYESHA JACKSON!!!!!!

Yesterday, January 21, Miss Tanyesha Jackson made Jesus her Lord!!! We are so proud of her and her spiritual growth over the past few months. We have seen Tanyesha express her love for God and become extremely devoted to her relationship with God and the church. Her eagerness and passion to seek God with all her heart has been very encouraging to many. CONGRATS!!! :D

Youth and Parent Devo-January

So this past Friday we had our first Youth and Parent Devo of TWENTY-TWELVE!!! The Teens and All-Stars had a great night of bonding. We played "speed fellowhip" and got to know each other in the different ministries. It was a great way to meet new people and have a fun at the same time.

HOPE Day!

This past weekend the whole LA Church of Christ celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend by volunteering throughout the LA area with HOPE Worldwide. The Central Region dedicated its volunteer project to beautifying the local Pasadena Boys and Girls Club. It was a great way for our church to reach out to the community and have a great time serving others. Here are some pictures of the mural that was painted yesterday at the work day:

Broomball!

Last night we kicked off the year by playing broomball at our first devo of 2012! For those who don't know what broomball is, it's basically hockey played with brooms/sticks while wearing tennis shoes! It was a lot of fun seeing the competitive and aggressive sides come out in everyone. Everyone had a great time playing and slippin' and sliding all over the ice :P

Prayer Request

"If one par suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it." 1 Corinthians 12:26

This Scripture reminds us to have deep empathy and sympathy for one another when there are times. We have the opportunity to do that now. Our dear brother and Teen Leader, Juan Orozco, lost his grandfather this week as he passed away. Let's pray and be there for Juan and his family.
