The Eagle Rock

I am back on the blog! I was one the original few to post something but decided to disappear for no apparent reason. Now I am back to talk about chronic trip Juan and I have been taking to the Eagle Rock. Yes, Eagle Rock, a suburb of the City of Los Angeles, was named because of a giant rock called Eagle Rock, the No. 10 Monument of Los Angeles, for those who do not know.

Recently, Juan and I have been jogging up Hill Dr., the nicest part of Eagle Rock, to get in shape. After seeing the Eagle Rock while driving, I decided that it would be cool to be on top of that thing since I have lived in Eagle Rock almost my entire life. We decided to try to get on top of the Eagle Rock after our jog on Friday of last week. Following our jog, we, or I, strongly endeavored to get on top of that rock. Finally, after examining the entire thing, I found a somewhat hidden trail with archaic stairs that lead to a long wall. We were almost defeated by the wall. Once we appeared in front of it, Juan was already defeated in his heart and his words. There was no way this rock filled wall, a part of the Eagle Rock, was going to defeat me from reaching the top; so I began to climb the wall slowly, while Juan started yelling the possible outcomes that could happed to me, all of which were bad. I finally got about half way up and Juan decided to join me in climbing the wall in fear that something bad could happen. But after perserving, we finally reached to the top to see the beautiful view of the larger part of Los Angeles. After reaching the top on last Friday June 28, we have been on the Rock 5 times and have now incorporated it at the end of our jog.

P.S. Sorry Marcel, I'm 25 minutes late. The pictures took a while.

What an amazing journey you and Juan are taking together! It's great to know that you're both taking care of your health as you jog and enjoying God's creation as a cherry on top it all! Don't you just feel so much closer to God when you're somewhat elevated closer to the sky!! I'm so inspired by your growth in leadership Matt! We definitely need a brother like you to continue to inspire and remind us of what it takes to be in shape both physically and spiritually in ONE! Just always be careful when you go up the rocks ok! :) Have a wonderful holiday weekend!!

That's awesome Matt. Finding spots like that are always great and can't really be beaten by any place else. It is encouraging to hear that you and Juan are spending time together and making memories with each other. You are setting a great example for us teens and dont give up on pushing yourself to that next level of growth.
